3D Content Analyzer: Ensuring Asset Readiness for Live Visualization

The 3D Content Analyzer is a web-based diagnostic tool designed to evaluate your 3D models. It provides immediate feedback on whether your assets meet the technical standards required for the Rubens 3D Viewer and Product Configurator.

Why Use the Content Analyzer?

3D models vary greatly in complexity. This tool identifies issues with geometry, file size, or technical structure that could lead to slow loading times or visual glitches on your website.

  • Instant Validation: Know within seconds if your file is "platform-ready."
  • Performance Benchmarking: See how your model will perform on different devices.
  • Project Transparency: Provides a clear technical status for Project Managers and Stakeholders.

How to Analyze Your Model

Using the tool does not require a login and is the first step in every 3D project workflow.

Use the upload functionality by clicking "Choose file" and select the 3D file you would like to analyze for the Roomle Rubens Configurator platform fit. Alternatively you can also drag & drop your file into this area. Please pay attention to upload your file in the required file format (.glb, .gltf, .obj, or .fbx).

Understanding the Results

The report uses a color-coded system to help you quickly assess the quality of your 3D asset:

Green (Platform Ready): The model is optimized. It will perform well on all devices, including mobile AR.

Yellow (Review Recommended): The model is usable but may be slow on older devices. We recommend a quick optimization check.

Red (Action Required): The model exceeds platform limits. It will not function correctly in the viewer and must be optimized.

Key Metrics Explained

You don't need to be a 3D expert to understand the report. Focus on these three main indicators:

1. Triangle Count (Geometry)

This represents the complexity of the 3D shape.

If this is too high, the model becomes "heavy," causing your website to slow down. High triangle counts are the most common reason for a Red result.

2. Number of Textures

This represents how much visual data must be loaded.

Each texture (image file) assigned to a model adds to the memory usage. Too many textures can lead to crashes on mobile devices or long loading times. Optimization often involves "texture atlasing" – combining multiple small images into one larger one.

3. Dimensions (Physical Scale)

This confirms the physical size of your product in the 3D world.

It is critical that your model's dimensions match the real-world product (e.g., a chair should be roughly 0.5m wide, not 50m). Incorrect dimensions will cause the Augmented Reality (AR) experience to look broken, as the product will appear either tiny or giant in the user's room.

What to do next

If your model is Green, you are ready to proceed. If your analysis returns a Yellow or Red result, you have two clear paths forward:

Self-Service Optimization: Share the report link and our 3D Data Requirements with your internal or external 3D specialists. They can use the technical details in the report to fix the geometry or materials.

Roomle 3D Optimization Service: If you do not have a 3D specialist or your team is at capacity, Roomle offers a full-service optimization. Simply send us your raw data, and our experts will return a "Green-rated," platform-ready asset. For more details, contact us at: service@roomle.com
