Augmented Reality (AR) Device Requirements
Rubens AR is built on a "web-native" philosophy, meaning your customers do not need to download a dedicated app to view products in their space. Instead, the experience leverages the Augmented Reality engines already built into modern mobile operating systems. This significantly reduces friction in the user journey and ensures a high rate of engagement.
Supported Operating Systems
To provide a stable and high-quality Augmented Reality experience, the user's device must support the underlying AR frameworks provided by Apple and Google.
iOS Devices (iPhone and iPad)
ARKit is running on iOS 11 and newer. To experience Augmented Reality on Apple devices, the use of Apple’s Safari Browser is mandatory.
ARKit supported devices:
- iPhone: iPhone 6s and 6s Plus and newer.
- iPad Pro: 9.7, 10.5, or 12.9 – both 1st-gen and 2nd-gen.
- iPad: iPad (2017) and newer.

Android Specifications
Roomle supports ARCore for Android devices. For the most stable experience, Google Chrome is the recommended browser.
ARCore supported devices:
- Requirement: Android 7.0 (Nougat) or later.
- System Service: The device must support ARCore and have "Google Play Services for AR" installed.
- Device List: Since the Android ecosystem is vast, Google maintains a comprehensive and updated list of supported devices.
ARCore supported devices and software versions: List of specific device models that are currently supported.
Note on Older Devices: If a device is not on the respective compatibility lists for ARKit or ARCore, it does not support web-based AR visualization. In these cases, the 3D viewer will still function as a 360° interactive experience, but the "View in Room" option will be unavailable.
