Get Started: Creating Your 3D Product

Rubens Admin is your central hub for managing your digital product catalog. Setting up an interactive 3D product is a straightforward process that transforms your static 3D files into a high-performance web experience that empowers your customers to explore your products in detail.

Step 1: Prepare Your 3D File

High-quality data is the foundation of a stable user experience. Before uploading, your assets must meet specific technical standards to ensure fast loading times and visual accuracy.

Please review our 3D Data Requirements and use the 3D Content Analyzer to check your data.

Note that when you upload your 3D models to Rubens Admin, the system will also perform an automated technical check to ensure the file is platform-ready.

Step 2: Navigate to Your Product Catalog

To begin, log in to your account at admin.roomle.com.

Select or create the catalog where your product will be managed. Once inside the correct catalog, navigate to the Products section in the main menu and click on the Create New Product button. From the product type selection screen, choose 3D Product Viewer to begin the setup for your interactive experience.

Step 3: Identify Your Product

Assigning unique identifiers is essential for organized catalog management and seamless website integration.

Product Name: Enter the name exactly as it should appear in your internal records and to your customers.

External Identifier: Provide a unique ID, such as your product’s SKU. This identifier acts as the "handshake" between the Rubens 3D viewer and your e-commerce shop, ensuring the correct model always appears for the correct product.

4. Upload the 3D File

With the product placeholder created, you can now upload your prepared asset. Click the upload zone and select your optimized 3D file. Rubens Admin takes over from here, processing the geometry for high-speed web rendering and automatically generating the specific data needed for stable Augmented Reality on iOS and Android.

5. Review and Preview

Examine your digital product exactly as it will appear to your customers. Use the live preview tool within Rubens Admin to check the visual quality, materials, and physical scale. This is your final quality check to ensure the product is responsive and visually correct before moving to the integration phase.

6. Proceed to Integration

Your product is now ready for deployment. Once you have verified the preview and are satisfied with the user experience, the final stage is to embed the interactive experience into your website.

Follow our 3D Viewer Integration Tutorial to learn how to add the 360° experience to your online experience.

Efficient Catalog Management: Batch Upload

If you are managing a large volume of assets, Rubens Admin offers a Batch Upload feature to streamline your workflow. Instead of creating each product individually, you can use the batch processing tool to upload multiple 3D files and their corresponding metadata simultaneously. This is the most efficient way to scale your digital catalog and prepare several products for deployment in a single step.

For a step-by-step guide on how to use this feature, please refer to our technical documentation: Batch Upload Products Into Your Catalog
